Entry Requirements

A candidate shall:

(a) hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent of a university at a grade point average specified by the school; and

(b) be currently registered to practise as a registered nurse and be eligible for registration in New South Wales; and

(c) have at least one year's experience as a registered nurse during the five years prior to admission to candidature or have current full-time employment as a registered nurse.

Advanced Standing

Applications for advanced standing cannot be assessed unless the units that you are seeking credit for are complete. If you are currently enrolled in a course and will not receive the results before the advanced standing closing dates please submit a new application once you have obtained the results.

These Course Rules & Plans are ONLY to be used if you Commenced, Transferred or Changed Versions in the Bachelor of Nursing with Honours in 2013.

Admission to Candidature

A candidate shall:
(a) hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent of a university at a grade point average specified by the school; and
(b) be currently registered to practise as a registered nurse and be eligible for registration in Australia; and
(c) have at least one year's experience as a registered nurse during the five years prior to admission to candidature or have current full-time employment as a registered nurse.

Period of Candidature

The period of candidature shall be:
(a) one year as a full-time candidate;
(b) up to two years as a part-time candidate.

Course Requirements

To qualify for the award a candidate must pass units to the value of 48 credit points.

Program of Study

Candidates shall complete an approved program of study as outlined in the Course Schedule comprising:

Award of Degree

Candidates who meet the course requirements shall be awarded the Bachelor of Nursing with Honours.

Classes of Honours

There shall be three classes of honours, namely Class I, Class II and Class III. Class II shall have two divisions. There shall be no re-examination.
An exceptionally distinguished candidate who has been awarded Honours Class I may be awarded a University Medal.
