This course is specifically for school leaders and aspiring school leaders. It strives to meet the professional needs of classroom, subject, department and institutional leaders within their existing context and also provides professional development via e-learning mode using contemporary material in innovative ways. | Entry Requirements | A candidate shall: (a) hold a three or four year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University or tertiary institution; or (b) hold a bachelor degree and a one or two year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University; or (c) satisfy the School by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature; and (d) comply with the University's English Language requirements. |

| Advanced Standing | At the discretion of the School, on the recommendation of the Course Coordinator and except for (c), a candidate may be granted a maximum of 12 credit points of advanced standing for: (a) units that have been counted towards another postgraduate qualification at this or another University; (b) units that have not counted towards another postgraduate qualification that have been completed at another University; and (c) there shall be no maximum advanced standing on the basis of units that have not counted towards another postgraduate qualification that have been completed at this University. |

Admission to Candidature
A candidate shall:
(a) hold a three or four year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University or tertiary institution; or
(b) hold a bachelor degree and a one or two year pre-service teaching qualification of a recognised University; or
(c) satisfy the School by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature; and
(d) comply with the University's English Language requirements.
Advanced Standing
At the discretion of the School, on the recommendation of the course coordinator and except for (c), a candidate may be granted a maximum of 12 credit points of advanced standing for:
(a) units that have been counted towards another postgraduate qualification at this or another University;
(b) units that have not counted towards another postgraduate qualification that have been completed at another University; and
(c) there shall be no maximum advanced standing on the basis of units that have not counted towards another postgraduate qualification that have been completed at this University.
Period of Candidature
The period of candidature shall be:
(a) a minimum of one year as a part-time candidate;
(b) a maximum of two years as a part-time candidate.
Course Requirements
To qualify for the award, and except with the permission of the School, a candidate must pass units to the value of 24 credit points at 500-level.

Candidates shall complete the program of study as outlined in the Course Schedule comprising:

Award of Degree
A candidate who meets the course requirements shall be awarded the Graduate Certificate in School Leadership.
