Knowledge of a Discipline
Knowledge of working with Aboriginal people will be taught through lectures, tutorials and in online unit though podcasts lectures. It will be assessed in all three assessments.

Communication Skills
Students will be taught communication skills through written and oral feedback on the assessment tasks. Students will learn valuable communication skills through participation in tutorials, online discussions and course work. Students will be assessed on the style of writing, clarity of writing, expression and development of ideas, and referencing. Students will practice their communication skills through completing the assessment tasks (written essays).

Information Literacy
Students will be taught to locate and evaluate relevant literature. Students will be assessed on their ability to use available sources and apply the information provide to the topics presented in unit.

Life-Long Learning
Through completing the assessments, students will be provided with the lifelong learning skills to be able to research, write and discuss issues pertaining to working with Aboriginal people. These skills can be transferred to any discipline. These attributes will be assessed in all of the assessments.

Through the assessments (online quizzes and case study), students will develop problem solving skills relevant to working cross-culturally.

Social Responsibility
Students are taught (through online and tutorial discussions) the social, cultural and ethical implications of their actions. They will be encouraged to question and analyse whiteness as a construct which shapes the dominant ideas about Australia's social, economic, cultural and political history.

Team Work
Students will practice their teamwork skills through participating in tutorials, or online discussion postings. They will be required to discuss the weekly topics with their fellow students in a thoughtful and respectful manner (practise).
