Australian Qualifications Framework
Level 9 Master

F1. ADMISSION
In compliance with Rule 1(b) applicants are required to have:

a. a degree of Bachelor of Laws of an Australian university; or
b. an equivalent qualification.
F2. PERIOD OF CANDIDATURE
The period of candidature shall be:
a. not less than one year and not more than two years as a full-time candidate; or
b. not less than two years and not more than four years as a part-time candidate.
F3. COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Students must pass 48 credit points comprising:
a. LLM 600; and
b. LLM 622 (a dissertation of not more than 35 000 words excluding appendices).
F4. ADVANCED STANDING
A student may be granted advanced standing for LLM600 either where this unit was successfully completed towards a postgraduate qualification, or through other significant learning which the Head of School considers equivalent to LLM600.
F5. LEVEL OF AWARD
The Master of Laws (Research) may be awarded to candidates at the level of Honours, or at the level of Pass.
