Bachelor of Advanced Chinese Language and Business Studies

Why study the Bachelor of Advanced Chinese Language and Business Studies at UNE?

This course has been designed to create contemporary professionals with a solid grounding in the core business fields of Accounting, Economics, Finance, Organisational Development, Management and Marketing needed for organisational survival and success. This business expertise is combined with an equal component of Chinese Language (Mandarin) and Chinese culture units to prepare students for a career conducting business in or with China. Further, the course provides a year of study in China at a UNE Partner institution, in which students study Chinese business and markets in the Chinese language. This unique combination of in-country study, business, language and culture will prepare you to take on a role as a future manager with leadership responsibilities and provide you with a valuable qualification in the Asian business world.

Please note: some Core Units are only offered off-campus. Students should check their eligibility for Overseas Help with respect to the year of study in China.

Entry Requirements

A candidate shall be qualified for admission (see Admission Rule Undergraduate Policy). Candidates who commence in the Bachelor of Chinese Language and Business Studies may be permitted to transfer with the permission of the Course Coordinator.

Advanced Standing

Advanced standing may be granted in accordance with the Advanced Standing Policy. However, advanced standing will not be granted for the in-country residence units.

Admission to Candidature

A candidate shall be qualified for admission (see Admission Rule Undergraduate Policy). Candidates who commence in the Bachelor of Chinese Language and Business Studies may be permitted to transfer with the permission of the Course Coordinator.

Advanced Standing

Candidates are referred to the University Policy on Advanced Standing.

Period of Candidature

The period of candidature shall be:
(a) four years as a full-time candidate;
(b) up to ten years as a part-time candidate.

Course Requirements

To qualify for the award a candidate must pass units to the value of 192 credit points with not more than 60 credit points at 100-level and at least 36 credit points at 300-level or above.

Program of Study

Candidates shall complete an approved program of study as outlined in the Course Schedule comprising:

Award of Degree

Candidates who meet the course requirements shall be awarded the Bachelor of Advanced Chinese Language and Business Studies.

Exit Pathways

Candidates who discontinue their studies in the course may be eligible to exit with the Bachelor of Chinese Language and Business Studies on completion of 144 credit points.
