Graduate Certificate in Applied Anatomy by Dissection

Why study the Graduate Certificate in Applied Anatomy by Dissection at UNE?

No longer offered. Currently enrolled students must complete this course by 31 December, 2012.

Full-time study is available in Semester 2 only; if commenced in Semester1 Part-time only.

This course provides education and training in anatomy by dissection to medical and dental graduates. The course consists of fully integrated study using online technologies such as DVD, CD, Virtual Libraries prior to an intensive 11 day course of cadaver dissection. Endorsement by The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is currently being sought.

Admission to Candidature

A candidate shall hold a Bachelor of Medicine or a Bachelor of Dentistry.

This course will provide preparation for candidates of the Surgical, Education and Training Program offered by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Surgical and Radiology Trainee candidates.

Period of Candidature

The period of candidature shall be:
(a) 6 months as a full-time candidate;
(b) up to two years as a part-time candidate.

Course Requirements

To qualify for the award a candidate must pass units to the value of 24 credit points.

Program of Study

Candidates shall complete an approved program of study as outlined in the Course Schedule comprising:

Candidates who meet the course requirements shall be awarded the Graduate Certificate in Applied Anatomy by Dissection.
