Unit Description

This unit, on the psychology of the developing person, will cover the social-emotional, perceptual, cognitive, and behavioural changes that occur during the life span. The unit is presented via lectures and additional seminars, required class practicals and/or experiments.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. demonstrate a knowledge of theories and research findings in developmental psychology;
  2. show an understanding of applied infant, child, adolescent and adult development issues.
  3. show an understanding of the theories of Freud, Erikson, Bowlby, Ainsworth, Harlow, Main and Baumrind.
