Unit Description

The unit explores patterns of interaction between business and government in Australia. Although the focus is Australian, comparison with overseas experience is also introduced. Special attention is given to the impact of business interests on government policy, and the impact of the government policy environment on business operations and performance.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  4. analyse a number of key policy issues which impinge on business and on the business-government relationship in Australia;
  5. understand political ideologies and how they impact on government-business relations;
  6. demonstrate an understanding of the central issues that impinge upon government and business in the 21st century.
