Graduate Attributes (GA)
Attribute Taught Assessed Practised
1 Knowledge of a Discipline
The relevant discipline-specific skills required in the award in which this unit is part will be taught and assessed in assignments 2 and 3 and practised in other units of the award. For example, in the BBus/BComm(Acct), these units may be AFM 211, ECON 244, LS 391 or LS 251, or MM units. 2 Communication Skills
Written communication skills will be taught in all components of the unit and assessed in all assignments. Assessment tasks will be assessed on style, clarity of expression, the development of a clear and well-structured argument and appropriate referencing and being able to effectively communicate complex discipline-specific concepts. Oral communication skills will be taught in the language proficiency component of the unit and through in class discussions, and will be assessed in assignment 4. Students will also be able to practise communication skills with members of the professional community. For example, being able to communicate financial data to people with non-financial backgrounds is a highly valued skill in accounting.

6 Problem Solving
Students will be assessed on their ability to analyse an essay question, decide on an appropriate way to structure an essay response and search for appropriate literature to support their response. Students will be assessed on their ability to work through statistical data and analysing the figures within the context of the specific assignment questions.

7 Social Responsibility
Students will be taught their professional and ethical responsibilities as researchers, including how to provide a balanced and well-considered argument with sufficient evidence.
