Unit Description

A unit with the objective of increasing students' knowledge of the main disciplines, principles and concepts relating to the development, management and use of computer-based information systems in organisations.

Learning Outcomes (LO) Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
  1. demonstrate an understanding of the integral nature of information systems for contemporary organizations, large or small, in private and public sectors;
  2. demonstrate an ability to recognise, describe and analyse information systems from a business professional's viewpoint;
  3. plan and design business information systems for day-to-day operations and management decision making;
  4. demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the complex nature of information systems and their application, in terms of development, management and use within organisations.
