Unit Description

This unit provides an intensive study of financial statement analysis, seeking to describe and explain: the regulatory environment; cash flows; ratio analysis; financing liabilities; fixed assets; leases and off balance sheet debt; multinational accounts; derivatives and hedging; adjustments of financial statements; measurement of risk; valuation of firms.

  2. highlight the importance of the concept and calculation of 'free cash flows';
  3. value companies using free cash flows and other techniques;
  4. carry out a comprehensive analysis of the financial statements of a company of their choice; and
  5. analyse the relationship between theory and contemporary practice.
