Note:
*It is possible to undertake 12 or 24 credit points of curriculum methods in English, Mathematics and Science. The asterisk indicates the units that must be studied when undertaking 12 credit points in these teaching areas. Students undertaking 24 credit points must complete all 4 units in the suite.

** Students may take up to three teaching specialisations in the HSIE area. Students undertaking one HSIE teaching specialisation are required to undertake EDSS968 and the specialised curriculum method unit. Students undertaking two or more teaching specialisations in HSIE are required to undertake both EDSS968 and EDSS969, as well as the specialised curriculum units.

Students undertaking 12 credit points of curriculum methods units in the Master of Teaching (Secondary) must undertake 12 credit points in each Group (Group 4A, 4B and 4C).

Students undertaking 24 credit points of curriculum methods units in the Master of Teaching (Secondary) must undertake 6 credit points in each Group (Group 4A, 4B and 4C) and an additional 6 credit points from any Group.

Students undertaking 36 credit points of curriculum methods units in the Master of Teaching (Secondary) must undertake 6 credit points from Group 4C and an additional 6 credit points from either Group 4A or 4B.

Suggested Full Time Course Plan

The following are standard patterns of enrolment or pathways for candidates studying on a full-time or part-time basis. They take into account unit pre-requisites, co-requisites and timetabling requirements. Candidates can each year choose to study less units than the full-time pattern or more units that the part-time pattern, but if doing so should use these standard patterns as guides as to how best ot structure their studies.

For candidates studying Full-Time = 48 cps per year or 24 cps per semester. This equates to a workload of approximately 40-48 hours per week.
