Juris Doctor

Why study the Juris Doctor at UNE?

The Juris Doctor is a professional qualification enabling graduates to practice law in all Australian jurisdictions, or pursue a career in business or Government. After completion of academic qualifications in law, entry to legal practice also requires the completion of a Practical Legal Training (PLT) course. The Juris Doctor is designed for graduates from disciplines other than law and lawyers with a civil law degree. Outstanding students may graduate with honours. The Juris Doctor is not a doctoral-level award and graduates are not entitled to use the honorific title 'Doctor'.
