International Pathways Enabling Program
Why study the International Pathways Enabling Program at UNE?
The International Pathways Enabling Program is a program of study for international students who have an IELTS score of 5.5 and who require advanced academic and communication skills preparation to prepare them for successful undergraduate study.
The Program consists of 2 x foundations skills units (FNDN 101 and FNDN 102) covering academic writing, information literacy, basic maths and statistics, and computer skills; 4 x communications skills units (TLIP 112; TLIP 113; TLIP 114 and TLIP 115) covering advanced academic writing, research skills, spoken communication, and professional English; and 2 X faculty units (chosen from the existing pathways suite of units selected from amongst the first year offerings in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Faculty of the Professions. )

1. Admission to Candidature
Admission to the International Pathways Enabling Program will be open to international candidates who have an IELTS score of 5.5 overall, with not less than 5 in any area.
2. Course Requirements
To complete the International Pathways Enabling Program and qualify for admission to an undergraduate course candidates shall satisfactorily complete a program of study comprising a total of 48 credit points including:
(a) four English Language units listed in the Program of Study; and
(a) two Foundation units listed in the Program of Study; and
(b) any two Pathways units listed in the Program of Study.
3. Course Structure
A maximum of 24 credit points must be taken in a semester.
4. Period of Candidature
The maximum full-time period of candidature is one year.
5. Progression
(a) English Language and Foundation units may be attempted or completed once only, except under exceptional circumstances and with the permission of the Course Coordinator; and
(b) any one Pathways unit may be attempted twice only; and
(c) if three Pathways units are attempted and not passed candidature shall lapse.
6. Program of Study
