Why study the Graduate Certificate in Anatomy by Dissection (Surgery and Radiology) at UNE?

No Longer offered, replaced with Graduate Certificate in Applied Anatomy by Dissection. Currently enrolled students must complete this course by 31 December, 2011

Full-time study is available in Semester 2 only; if commenced in Semester1 Part-time only.

This course provides education and training in anatomy by dissection to medical and dental graduates. The course consists of fully integrated study using online technologies such as DVD, CD, Virtual Libraries prior to an intensive 11 day course of cadaver dissection. Endorsement by The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is currently being sought.

1. Admission to Candidature
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Dentistry Graduates.

This course will provide preparation for candidates of the Surgical, Education and Training Program offered by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and Surgical and Radiology Trainee candidates.

2. Period of Candidature
The maximum period of candidature shall be:
(a) 6 months as a full-time candidate;
(b) one year as a part-time candidate.

3. Course Requirements
To qualify for the award a candidate shall pass 24 credit points.

4. Progress and Conduct
Refer to the University General Rule on Academic Progress.

Candidates may enrol in ANAT600 in either Semester 1 or Semester 2.
ANAT601 will be offered in Semester 2 only.
ANAT600 can be studied concurrently with ANAT601.

For candidates studying Full-Time = 24 cps per semester. This equates to a workload of approximately 40-48 hours per week.
For candidates studying Part-Time = 24 cps per year or 12 cps per semester. This equates to a workload of approximately 20-24 hours per week.
