Bachelor of Media and Communications
Why study the Bachelor of Media and Communications at UNE?
The degree develops knowledge of communication technologies in various cultural, social and historical contexts. Graduates will understand and apply a range of disciplinary methods for studying specific communications media (print, audio and audiovisial, electronic), the changing relations between them and their role in modern society.

| Advanced Standing | Students who have completed a Diploma of Screen from NSW TAFE are eligible for 72 credit points of advanced standing towards this degree. |

| Honours | Candidates who have successfully completed the Bachelor of Communication Studies may, on the recommendation of the head of school concerned, continue to an honours year. The honours program shall include advanced coursework and a dissertation. |

To qualify for the award a candidate shall complete a total of 144 credit points with not more than 60 credit points at 100-level.

Candidates who discontinue their studies in the course may be eligible to exit with the Advanced Diploma in Arts on completion of 72 credit points of which 36 credit points must be at 200/300-level.
Articulation Program
Film and Television Production
This program is articulated with the Diploma of Screen awarded by Armidale TAFE, which is equivalent to 72 credit points. Candidates will complete COMM 180, ENCO 100 and 60 credit points from the following list, including at least 48 credit points at 300 level: COMM 120, 315, 321, 323, 325, 383, 385, 386, 388; ENCO 306; THEA 110, 111, 307; WORK 300 or ARTS 301.
