Bachelor of Economics
Why study the Bachelor of Economics at UNE?
The course consists of a core of study in microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic history, business statistics and mathematics. Students then select one major from the three majors listed and may also select other subjects such politics, history, languages and communication.
Career Opportunities
Examples include positions in federal and state public services as policy officers, analysts, economic modelers, advisers, trade and industry officers; private sector positions in financial management, forecasting, banking and insurance; international positions with agencies such as the World Bank, the United Nations and agribusiness firms.

| Benefits | Summer Semester provides an opportunity for students to fast-track their academic progression or to catch up on units required to complete the degree. A selection of units is offered off-campus during the normal semester break from November to February, enabling students to study from home and to accelerate their progress towards graduation. |

| Double Degree Opportunities | Students may transfer to the double degrees of Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws upon obtaining at least a Grade Point Average of 4.5 (P=4, C=5). This double degree program takes students five years of normal (full-time) semester enrolment to complete. |

| Advanced Standing | Students may apply for advanced standing towards the degree on the basis of previous tertiary study. |

| Fast Track | Summer Semester is available for selected units (Commonwealth Supporedt Places available) |

| Honours | Students with above average grades are encouraged to undertake a fourth year of advanced study in their major, leading to the degree of Bachelor of Economics with Honours. |

To qualify for the award a candidate shall achieve a total of 144 credit points with not more than 60 credit points at 100 level; at least 36 credit points at 300 level of which at least 24 credit points shall be from the School of Business, Economics and Public Policy and School of Law; and not more than 36 credit points from schools outside the Faculty of the Professions.
