| Unit Description |
This unit is a study of Australian political institutions and processes. After discussing the nature of politics, the unit goes on to examine the Constitution and constitutionalism, federalism, state and local government, parliament, the High Court, political parties and pressure groups, representation and elections, the public sector, the media and future directions for Australia's political institutions. The theme of democracy is examined throughout the unit. |
