| Unit Description |
This unit provides the foundation for nursing practice and related health science in the context of neurological, integumentary, musculoskeletal and the special senses disturbances. It incorporates theoretical and practical nursing insights and facilitates development of beginner level knowledge, skills and competence for safe, caring and effective nursing interventions. Students study the structures and functions of the nervous, musculoskeletal systems, integumentary system and the development and control of microbial disease including characteristics of microorganisms and their interactions with the body. Students are assisted to improve practical problem-solving and decision-making skills. |
