| Unit Description |
This unit covers important horticultural enterprises including fruit production and viticulture, floriculture and urban/landscape horticulture as well as the plant and environmental factors influencing plant growth and development. Emerging areas including irrigation management, tissue culture and post-harvest technologies will be discussed as part of three major themes: (1) Horticulture Physiology encompassing a study of growth and development of plants with specific reference to tree and vine crops; (2) Horticultural Environment dealing with environmental factors influencing the productivity of horticultural crops; and (3) Horticultural Techniques including propagation, tissue culture, grafting, pruning and training. |
