| Unit Description |
This unit, which assumes a sound knowledge and understanding of topics dealt with in HHSC136, focuses on body structures and functions, and certain other factors, which play key roles in the survival of the human organism, and the continuation of human life. Areas covered include the endocrine and reproductive systems, human heredity, prenatal development, basic microbiology relating to health and disease, and fundamentals of pharmacology. These are taught in approximately 50 hours of classes (lectures and practical activities) over 10 weeks, and assessed on the basis of an assignment, examination and practical activities reports. |
