Unit Description

This unit aims to introduce students to the study of modern German drama and prose. Discussion of the texts will consider such topics as the relationship between the text and the time when it was written, that is, its historical and sociological context. The texts will also be discussed in terms of the way in which they present their subject matter, that is with regard to literary issues such as style, imagery and symbolism.
