| Unit Description |
This unit examines theoretical approaches to analysing economic change and urban spaces. Underpinning this will be a variety of empirical studies and analysis of the planning and policy implications. The unit is divided into 3 modules:
Module (1) covers topics relating to the geographies of economic change and urban development; Module (2) investigates urban economic principles and their practical implications; and Module (3) examines the social implications of urban economic change.
The unit also offers a non-mandatory 3-day field trip to Sydney for those students wishing to gain a first-hand understanding of some of the concepts covered in the unit.
