Unit Description

This unit is one of a suite of units in economic history. It surveys the growth of the Australian economy from the time the Europeans achieved self-sufficiency until the end of the Second World War. Some of the aspects considered include the development of the primary and secondary industries, demographic changes, urbanisation, transport and cyclical fluctuations. This unit comprises up to 26 lecture hours and 12 tutorial hours.
