| Notes | off-campus students: An intensive school will be held at the Australian Cotton Research Institute, Narrabri, NSW; final examination will be held as an open book examination on the final day of the intensive school in May. On-campus students: There will be an excursion in the second week of first semester in place of the intensive school and the examination will be held at School level during the UNE examination period. |

| Unit Description |
This unit provides the grounding for sustainable cotton production by examining aspects of breeding, cotton growth and physiology, nutrition, soils management, irrigation, farm design and cotton quality. Off-campus students are required to complete 4 days of practical sessions at the Australian Cotton Research Institute, Narrabri. |
