Coordinator(s) Konstantin Pavlov (kpavlov@une.edu.au)
Unit Description

This unit will apply elements of biophysics to biological systems as a means of understanding health and disease. Students will be introduced to a broad range of topics such as: diagnostic tools used in medical imaging (such as X-rays, MRI and radionuclide imaging); protein interactions at the molecular level (using proteomics and fluorescence spectroscopy); as well as fluid dynamics and cardiovascular function. BIOP 520 is based on BIOP 320 with additional assessment tasks requiring a greater depth of understanding of the material.
