A candidate shall: hold the degree of Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent; and have an adequate academic preparation for the proposed research topic area; or satisfy the Higher Degrees Research Committee, upon the recommendation of the faculty by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature.

Master of Nursing with Honours

1.     Admission to Candidature
A candidate shall:
(a)       hold the degree of Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent; and
(b)       have an adequate academic preparation for the proposed research topic area; or
(c)       satisfy the Higher Degrees Research Committee, upon the recommendation of the faculty by means of other qualifications and relevant experience of adequate preparation for candidature.

2.     Course Requirements
2.1.      To qualify for the award, a candidate shall pass 72 credit points as specified in Rules 2.2. and 5.
2.2.      The course shall comprise either:
            (a)  72 credit points from Group 1; or
            (b)  (i)    48 credit points from Group 2;
(ii)    the units in Group 3;
(iii)   12 credit points from Group 4.

3.     Period of Candidature
        The maximum period of candidature shall be:
(a)       two years as a full-time candidate;
(b)       four years as a part-time candidate.

4.     Progress and Conduct
        Failure to obtain a result of Credit or better in each course work unit shall be deemed to be unsatisfactory progress under Rule 2.13.2.

5.  Units Offered
        All units listed below for this award have a value of six credit points except where indicated after a colon.

        EDUC 591, HS 591, PDAL 591; EHPS 590.
        Group 4
        HSGR 426, 427, 429; HSHM 400, 402, 411, 412, 421, 440, 441, 443, 445, 447, 466, 501; HSNS 400, 415, 422, 423, 424, 426, 428:12, 432, 433, 434, 440, 452, 464, 467, 469, 478; IDIG 306; or any other unit approved by the faculty.
