Why study the Graduate Certificate in Educational Management at UNE?
No longer offered. Currently enrolled students must complete this course by 31 December 2011.
The course aims to serve the educational and training needs of managers in the school, tertiary and other related sectors. The course articulates with the Master of Educational Administration.
On completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will have a basic understanding of: management principles and the pivotal role of administrative leadership within educational organisations at all levels; the research and scholarly literature on trends and issues in public sector management, and organisational theory and their practical application to educational organisations at all levels; the changing external social, financial and political circumstances influencing the development of educational institutions at all levels; the emerging influence of technological change, globalisation and national and international trends in the management of educational and other public organisations; the leadership challenges of managing organisations in a time of rapid change.

| Entry Requirements | A candidate must have had appropriate experience in an educational institution or in education services delivery; and (a) hold a degree or a three-year diploma of a university; or (b) satisfy the Faculty by means of other qualifications and relevant experience (at least a two-year diploma and three years' employment in a teachng or administrative position in an educational setting) of adequate preparation for candidature. |
