This degree focuses on the major issues confronting Australian coastal habitats and resources and provides training in their ecology and sustainable management. The course commences in Armidale and students complete their third year of study at the National Marine Science Centre at Coffs Harbour, NSW, which is adjacent to the diverse habitats of the Solitary Islands Marine Park. Fieldwork in a range of natural environments is a strong focus of the course - this includes an excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. There is scope to develop skills such as scientific diving, boat handling and marine radio communications. |
