The unit addresses economic issues such as scarce resource allocation, ways of allocating resources: Cost benefit analysis, Gross Margin analysis; Growing world-wide emphasis on market-based solutions and consumerism. Then the unit moves to examining key concepts of sustainable plant and animal agriculture/aquaculture and methods for describing these production systems at a landscape level.
