| Unit Description |
This unit introduces students to key concepts and areas of health psychology. This unit will give students the ability to (1) appreciate how health is affected by individuals' behaviours given different social environments and biological factors; (2) grasp basic human biology such as the functioning of the endocrine, immune and cardiovascular systems; (3) comprehend the effects of stressors on health and relevant buffering factors; (4) recognise underlying factors for positive and negative changes in health related behaviour; and (5) understand the effects health status and changes in health may have on individuals' behaviour. |
