| Unit Description |
The aim of this unit is to understand and assess some of the metaphysical claims central to Hinduism and Buddhism. The approach will be philosophical rather than sociological or historical. Topics will include reincarnation, karma, atman, brahman and maya. The various schools of Indian philosophy will be discussed, and there will be an introduction to non-Indian Buddhism. |
