Unit Description

The unit content includes: maps and mapping systems (global and Australian); property information systems; global positioning systems; basic surveying; photogrammetry; satellite remote sensing; and ground-based sensing systems. The principles of each topic are presented and applications to natural resource management, geography, archaeology and planning demonstrated. Students have the option of choosing a discipline specific topic for the major assignment. NR 531 is based on the undergraduate unit with additional assessible load and greater demonstrated understanding required.
