Unit Description

This unit discusses the major issues confronting Muslims today. Among the themes are the universal religion and reinterpretation in a rapidly changing world: nationalism and the nation-state, modernisation, revivalism, separatism democracy, international relations, social change, science and technology and the modern media. The emphasis will be on seeing Muslims as world-citizens struggling to find their own identity.
