| Unit Description |
This unit has been designed to enable students with a foundation knowledge in human anatomy and physiology to extend this to in-depth study of structures and functions of the skin. Detailed skin anatomy and histology are related to physiological processes such as wound healing. Students also examine the roles of endogenous, commonly ingested and topically applied agents in the physiology of the skin. The unit content is intended to be applicable to the clinical contexts of both beginning and practising health professionals including aesthetics therapists and cosmetic surgeons. |
