Unit Description

A study of the crusades and their impact on Byzantium and the Near East, including the origins of the crusading movement, the political, economic and military motives which inspired the crusades, the foundation and collapse of the crusader kingdoms, and relations between the west, Byzantium and the Turks between AD 1000 and 1453.
