Unit Description

This unit examines the lives of Australians since federation paying particular attention to topics and issues which relate to current debates. The unit also introduces the variety of sources and methods available to historians concerned to understand and communicate aspects of twentieth century Australian history. Topics covered include white Australia, Australians at war, domestic and suburban life, pubs and booze, sport, the cold war, baby boomers, and the sixties.
