Unit Description

This unit introduces the student to architectural design. Design skills are learned through 'hands on' experience in design and construction of domestic scale buildings. The responsibility of designers under local government and planning legislation is discussed, including heritage, streetscape, ecologically sustainable development and natural hazards. Assessment is through a studio design exercise and examination.
