| Unit Description |
This unit provides an expansive consideration of rural and regional planning issues for students of geography and planning and other interested students. It concentrates on the need for integrated planning strategies based on an understanding of human behaviour and institutions as well as physical processes. Sustainable land use and the appropriate management of related water, energy and other resources is critical to successful planning and this unit facilitates understanding through student-selected research projects, roleplays, structured group discussion, unit readings, current news, assessment work and online media. For this reason online access is essential. |
