| Unit Description |
This unit will introduce students to the main critical approaches that have developed in the area of 'Law and Literature'. The unit will focus on a broad selection of dramatic texts and prose fiction and will involve some cross-examination of the relationships between law and literature. Contextual readings will include key critical works and some examples of legal writing (trial transcripts, judgments). Students will be required to analyse these texts in terms of such considerations as language use, narrative structure, and/or the representation of law and lawyers. |
