Unit Description

This unit provides an opportunity for students to extend practicum experiences beyond PDEC 493 in a different setting. To contribute to partnerships, teachers must articulate and implement their teaching approaches, be knowledgeable about children, and work side-by-side with other staff and families. Advanced communication and negotiation approaches are studied in the context of working with children and adults. Curriculum planning cycles are explored, utilised and reflected upon during a 15 day guided professional experience. Students seeking employment in the early years of school should negotiate their professional experience in a primary school.
