Unit Description

This unit investigates theories and research of children's development within a contemporary social and cultural framework. Conceptual understandings of young children's development are explored and applied to child study. The impact of theory, research and professional opinion are critically examined and used for making decisions about integrating children's development with daily early education curriculum practices with reference to relevant State authorities' policy and curriculum documents. Assessment will encompass two case studies and WebCT online interactions.
