| Unit Description |
Benefit-cost analysis is a method to determine the economic desirability of competing alternatives from the viewpoint of society as a whole. In this unit, students develop an understanding of the necessary concepts and theory, and an ability to complete an effective analysis in the context of projects. The concepts and theory focus on welfare foundations, investment analysis, and valuation of benefits and costs. The case studies and applications focus on current problems in agriculture, the environment, land use and resource management. |
