Unit Description

The unit aims to provide a substantial introduction to the organisation, policies, practices and institutions that constitute the Australian Criminal Justice System. Broadly, this unit takes a scholarly, but more specifically a sociological approach towards the Australian Criminal Justice System. Sociological concepts such as class, race, gender, and ethnicity will be encountered, alongside specifically criminological concepts. The course is taught through a combination of traditional and problem-based teaching approaches.
