Unit Description

This unit is concerned with Chinese cultural history from the 20th century onwards, together with developments and issues in modern Chinese culture. Through the study of recent Chinese literature and film, the ideas and themes of interest to Chinese cultural practitioners, and the influences upon them, will be explored. Some of the readings will be available either in Chinese or English.
