Unit Description

This unit integrates lectures, practicals, fieldwork, a taxonomic review and plant collection to develop botanical skills relating to plant diversity, morphology and taxonomy. Principles and practices of identification, classification and naming of plants emphasise characteristically Australian plant families. The fundamental role of plant taxonomy and its importance to science and society is explored.
