| Unit Description |
Approximately two lectures and one practical or tutorial period per week. This course builds upon the biochemistry introduced in BCHM 210 and introduces microbiology. Topics covered include lipids and membranes, metabolism of amino acids, integrated energy metabolism in mammals, photosynthesis and plant metabolism, methods for handling bacteria, types of microorganisms including viruses and microbial biotechnology. |
