Combined Units ANPR415 - Constraints to Animal Production
Coordinator(s) John Nolan (jnolan@une.edu.au)
Unit Description

This unit covers ruminant and monogastric animals and is designed for both 'generalist' and 'animal science' oriented students. The major constraints to increased animal production posed by environment (nutrition, climate, health and welfare) are considered in an integrated way, ie emphasis is placed on the interactions between factors such as nutrition, climate and disease. Contemporary social imperatives such as waste management. The unit provides sufficient basic scientific information about the major factors that limit animal production to enable students to analyse and advise on animal production problems in widely different practical situations. Students enrolled in ANPR515 will have to complete the requirements for ANPR415 and complete additional guided reading/practical work appropriate to the needs of individual students.
