Unit Description

This unit provides advanced understanding of the mechanisms and effects of disease on animal production and the methods used to predict and control disease. It has a practical orientation with modules on each animal industry, and an additional one on parasitic disease. Practicals covers such areas as the post mortem examination of animals, recent advances in parasitology, construction of a disease prediction model, estimating the economic impact of disease, and workshops with researchers and animal health consultants from various animal industries.
