The Master of Geographic Information Science is designed to provide academic and professional training in the use and application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing, principally to natural resources managers at advanced levels. Please note that students wishing to study full-time must commence in Semester 2. |

| Entry Requirements |
The minimum requirements for admission to candidature is a three year Bachelor degree including the basic sciences biology, chemistry and statistics. It is possible to transfer to Master of Geographic Information Science candidature on completion of units to the value of 12 credit points towards the Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information Science.

1 Admission to Candidature
1.2. Admission to candidature shall be determined by the relevant course coordinator. 2.Appointment of Supervisor 3.Course Requirements for the Master of Geographic Information Science
3.2. At the discretion of the supervisor and head of the relevant school, NR581 or NR691 may be included in the study program, subject to the student achieving a prescribed minimum level of academic performance. 3.3. Unless otherwise determined by the school in special circumstances, the course work program shall be completed in 12 months of full-time study or in not more than eight consecutive semesters of part-time study. 4. Articulation from the Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information Science: On completion of the Graduate Diploma, students are able to articulate to the Master of Geographic Information Science with 24 credit points (no more than 12 credit points at undergraduate level) of advanced standing for units completed towards the Graduate Diploma. |
